The Truth about Zombies

This is just to clear up some common misconceptions of the zombie as well as other cool survival tips. Josiah makes some good points in his Zombie in St. Elmo piece but I just want to elaborate some on his points. Firstly location. Although sure the overall Location is important but oh so much more important is the actual building you use. First of all once the Avent happens you can't move very far and since most of it happens all within 24 hours you dont have alot of options. Me, preferably would go and gain access to the top of the climbing facility near Mr. Ts at the bottom of Lookout Mountain. The ordeal of getting there would be difficult because zombies can't drive cars so once you turn your car is pretty much left dead in the road so it might be a pileup on the mountain but I drive a 95 Jeep cherokee with 4 wheel drive so i think i have enough torque to push a car. I of course would look the Winn Dixie on the way for can goods and water... and cigarettes. However the most ideal place would have to be walmart. it has food, clothes, camping equiptment, guns, ammo, McDonalds, everything.
Weapons. Josiah has a right mind to suggest a rifle rather than a machine gun. However true it may be that a machine gun would be cool to have its way too cool. Its too cool because its way to easy to not conserve ammo and just turn it to rock and roll mode and mow down some zombies. Personally however i would have a long range rifle and a shotgun for short range of course for its capabilities with pushing back an opponent as well as its very destructive to more than one target. Body Armor is not necessary. Because all you need is a high place like the top of a building and literally theres nothing they can do to you. Good short hand to hand combat weapons- croquet mallet, sword, crowbar, chainsaw (personal favorite), a lawnmower (while it is running and lifted off the ground), and axe, homemade spear, bow and arrow, you get the picture, be creative!
Thirdly, zombies can make an across the river move. They dont need oxygen to live so they can in fact walk across the river's bottom to another side. Now this proposes a problem because long after the event is over and all the zombies are killed there may still be some at the bottom of the ocean. Stuck in underwater caves. Another note- a zombie on fire is still a zombie, unless the fire is so extreme that it destroys the brain, the zombie is still a being capable of damage.
Ok thats all i care to write right now but im sure i can elaborate if anyone has questions. That is all. I'm glad I have a chattabolg now i feel more at home here.
